Father's Day Worship

This Father's Day will be bittersweet at Calvary as Pastor Ray Bartlett will be preaching his last sermon as he prepares to leave Calvary and serve the Lord in Pennsylvania. It will be a special day to say goodbye to a dear friend, pastor and beloved family. We also have the joy of hearing testimonies from three people who are joining our church and from missionaries Rick and Karyn Visser.

We will open the service singing The Father's Love from Sovereign Grace Music. This song glories in the love of God through Christ. While we were sinners, Christ died for us and that truth is the message of this song. We have sung this song often at Calvary and I hope it will be special for us as we use it to celebrate Father's Day.

We are also singing the hymn Be Thou My Vision. This traditional hymn is full of theological truths formed in poetic language. The phrase that catches my attention is this: Thou my best thought by day or by night. The idea that no thought that I have is better that God is a remarkable notion. I pray that you will be blessed by this song.

Before Pastor Paul leads us in a time of prayer for fathers, we will sing How Deep The Father's Love For Us by Stuart Townend. This song clearly declares the Gospel of Jesus Christ and powerfully proclaims that our only boast is in Christ.

We will close the service singing the Steve Green classic song Find Us Faithful. This song encapsulates our goal as fathers and our prayer for Pastor Ray as he moves on to serve in a new ministry.

I hope you will join us on Sunday as we glory in the love of God.

Soli Deo Gloria,
Trent

This Week At Calvary

This Sunday, Margie and I will be away in Arkansas for a wedding and I am very grateful to Pastor Ray and to our Youth Ministry musicians who will be leading worship at Calvary in my absence.

Here is the list of songs that we will be singing:

Forever Reign - Hillsong

You Never Let Go - Matt Redman

One Thing Remains - Kristian Stanfill

10,000 Reasons - Matt Redman

One Way - Hillsong

Take the opportunity to be familiar with these songs and be ready to join with our youth in worship on Sunday.

Soli Deo Gloria,
Trent
